Citizenship Ceremonies

The President, Councillors and the Chief Executive Officer are authorised  conduct Citizenship Ceremonies on behalf of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia as required.

Australian Citizenship application forms are available from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship or at Australia Post branches. All enquiries regarding the application for citizenship will be directed to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship and NOT the Shire of Ashburton.

The role of the Shire of Ashburton and local government in general is to conduct a meaningful, dignified and memorable ceremony to mark the occasion of the acquisition of Australian citizenship.
