The process for producing the Strategic Plan has been an exhaustive twelve month process which sought extensive community participation and has now produced a working plan for the next four years.

The six key strategic objectives incorporated in the plan include

Ø  Diversify and Strengthen the Economy

Ø  Include Engage our Community

Ø  A Connected and accessible region

Ø  Conserve and Enhance the Environment and Cultural Heritage

Ø  Community Safety and Security

Ø  A Well Managed and Contemporary Corporation

Our main projects over the next two years include

Ø  Construction of Emergency Evacuation Centre in Onslow (Multi-purpose complex)

Ø  Redevelopment of the Vic Hayton Memorial Swimming Pool, Tom Price

Ø  Tourism Strategy

Ø  Facilitate Land Development

Ø  Townscape Planning

Ø  Waste Management Strategies

The Strategic Plan will be a living document which will be reviewed on an annual basis and further public comment will be sought. Quarterly reports will also be provided to Council advising the progress in meeting the outcomes identified within the plan.

After receiving positive feedback from the community, Council are confident that, with community involvement and support, the objectives of the Strategic Plan will be achieved.
