ANSIA Improvement Scheme

An Improvement Scheme allows the State Government to become the planning authority for a particular area of land with the intention to advance its planning and development. These are similar instruments to local planning schemes (LPS) and contain development control provisions regarding the scheme area.

An improvement scheme comes into effect when it is published in the Gazette. An improvement scheme overrides the local planning scheme in the subject area.

For the Shire of Ashburton, the Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area (ANSIA) Improvement Scheme was gazetted on 30 September 2016 and applies to the area of land as depicted in the improvement scheme.
