Onslow Aquatic Facility

Onslow Aquatic artist impression (artist impression)

In 2011, Chevron Australia finalised a State Development Agreement for the Wheatstone Project which included investment in social infrastructure improvements. $7 million was allocated to the ‘Onslow Aquatic and Recreational Centre’ as part of this Agreement and Pindan Contracting was awarded the Tender in March 2016.

Works have been steadily progressing with a new car park and set down/pick up area completed along the Aquatic Facility main entrance and Onslow Primary School entrance.   This area is currently being utilised for school drop off and has improved the flow of traffic dramatically making it safer overall for our community.

Within the site the pool shell has now taken shape with the freeform area and lane pool clearly visible from the road.  Leading into Christmas the amenities building, reception/kiosk area, change rooms and toilets will be completed in preparation for the opening of the facility.

With summer approaching and an anticipated completion time of late January the swimming pool will be a welcome relief for the residents of Onslow.
